I know nothing about steel -- we are going to place a 2" wide steel plate under the transom and above the double track -- its all hidden in the horizontal moulding.
I want to be able to fix the track should it start to fall/sag -- the rod will hold up the steel for the transom and continue through the frame to the top support of the pocket door frame. Will have to make sure a moulding is removal on the side if we go with the two rods.
I used this system before w/o the transom and only had the single rod in the center -- doing it that way you can just leave the rod and nut exposed in the center of the two pocket assemblies -- if it sags you simply use a socket and tighten the nut. There is a center gap in the track
This is the hallway -- another transom is going in over the doorway
